Cafeteria

I enjoy the food that is sold at Elmhurst College but it seems like there is not as much to choose from anymore. What ever happened to pizza and French fries? I think that the school should have more of a variety. They need to bring back the basics. After awhile, the same food gets boring. I would not complain because there are other food places that are close to school except no one ever wants to leave to get food because then you loose your parking spot.

Reckless Drivers

One day, as I was driving endlessly around the parking lot, I witnessed something that I probably should not have. An ignorant, impatient person decided to pull into a parking spot that was way to small for his car. He did not seem to care because he pulled into that spot anyway and ended up scratching the entire side of the car next to him. He parked carelessly and walked to class. This incidence made me think- someone could do that to my car and just walk away. About a month later, I walked out to my car and the person that was parked in front of me parked with their car touching mine. It was parked so much on my car that when I backed out, I could see their car drop. People really need to be careful!!!

Becoming an Issue

I have recently heard from a students' talking about how the parking issue is going to the administrative board. Now if this was not an issue, why would the board of administration become involved?

My future car lol

If I got to drive this car to school every day I think I wouldn't mind driving to school everyday at 8am

college experience

One of the things that you miss out on, if you do on live on campus is being able to just role out of bed and just go to school. I live about 20 mins and if I am running late i am screwed. I have 2 opions miss my first class or just leave my apartment right away and be dirty for the rest of the day; because I have class all day and I dont leave till late. So either way i am not a happy camper

Driving in the morning

I really hate haveing a 8am class and having to driving in morning traffic honestly I think all the worst drivers in the world decode to drive on route 83 at 7:20am. No one knows how to turn on there turn signal when changing lanes. People also need to stop staring at accidents at the side of the road because there holding up traffic. The only good thing about it is that I can find parking when I get to school.

A waste of gas, money, and time

During a February day in 2008, I drove around the Elmhurst College parking lot for 1 hour and 15 minutes because there was no available parking. Additionally, I went to the off-campus parking lots and they were also full. After awhile, it becomes very aggravating - especially when you leave your house an hour before your class starts just because you know that you won't be able to find parking. On top of the aggravation that I was already feeling, the lack of parking made me late for my class that day. I was even more pissed off because a tardy counts as an absence in the class that I was late for.

There Is No Parking Issue

I cannot commiserate with my fellow commuters. I am a biker, and convenient parking comes with my much more maneuverable form of transportation. When I can't find a bike rack I can just chain my bike to a pole or sign - despite the fact that this sometimes upsets the Elmhurst Security. Furthermore, I don't have to worry about bike theft; this is Elmhurst. I've had numerous bikes stolen in other places - the last one in Oak Park. It probably helps to have a bike composed of a smattering of other bike parts that have survived through my abuse and accidents - people take the shinier ones first.

I would go as far as to suggest to my fellow commuters that they too get bikes - even if they have a long way to go in a car. The commuters who experience chronic parking problems would be suited well by the flexibility of a bike. They could attach the bike to their car and park much further away - but still get to class on time. Everyone from Lance Armstrong to 'that morbidly obese guy on campus' would find biking a challenge; biking is much more accessible to the masses than say, running - there is no joint impact, and biking technique allows for a wide range of variance with less possible harm than running.

i hate parking

It seems like I have to come to school at 7am in order to find a decent parking spot. Yes there are additional parking spaces but those are not enough to satisfy the needs of the students. I have heard several of my professors complain about the parking as well. I believe that since the campus life is growing and we are adding new dorms we should also add more parking areas. Also, it would be nice to fix the parking areas that already exist. There are pot holes on every turn and the lines are faded. Also, let the security office notify the students of the changes in parking so that we do not get TICKETS. There are pot holes on every turn and the lines are faded. parking

I am not a happy camper. I am tired of driving around for 15 mins just to find a spot in the way back that takes me 10 mins just to walk to my class from my parking spot. and this girl in my dance class, Morgan, has two dance classes in a row but she has to leave before the second one because she is in a 3 hour parking spot because there were no parking spots. So she doesn't get ticketed and she does this every day.
